Controller

A relatively small but quickly growing company with multiple campuses, including international sites, is seeking a Controller.  The position will be the top financial person, and will report directly to the CEO.  This person will be responsible for directing Accounting functions, timely financial statements, reports and analysis across all campuses, plus lead the Accounting aspects of an ERP implementation. 

The Controller is responsible for:

• Providing guidance and leadership in all areas of accounting, finance and general business office. 
• Overseeing and directing the day-to-day function of the accounting department, including A/P, A/R, payroll, 401(k) administration, tax and compliance reporting, etc
• Supervising a staff of 4 direct reports.
• Be hands on as needed.
• Working closely with financial officer in Asia to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Guiding & directing accounting and finance aspects of an ERP implementation Enterprise wide.
• Providing support and guidance to executive group for strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting
• Responsible for cash management, including line of credit management, international wire transfers, cash flow forecasting, etc
• Searching for opportunities for process improvement in all areas of accounting as well as operations.
• Providing a vision that is financially sound by reviewing and assessing various options as needed
• Staff and team development/mentoring
• Review and monitoring of internal controls and appropriate segregation of duties
• Reporting and communicating to the CEO on a regular basis as to issues and updates
• Working closely w/external CPA firm to assure compliance, strategy, & general financial issues.
• Providing financial information to the Owner

Requirements:

• The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an MBA in Accounting, and a CPA is preferred.
• 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably with a mix of public accounting & private business experience
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to management and other employees of the organization, and have prior supervisory experience.
• Strong analytical abilities including ability to identify areas requiring analysis and effective presentation and communication of findings
